The 800 pound gorilla is in the room and will drive down costs no matter what. Federal trillion dollar deficits are not sustainable. New reimbursement formulas will not permit the system to operate as usual. Right now any time a health system has a delay in a capital project or a reduction in force, the changing environment and health care reform is cited as part of the cause. Will current integration strategies (provider and physician consolidations, mergers and acquisitions-from affiliations to structured reimbursement contracting arrangements) leading to more integrated organizations be an important part of the solution? Change is always easy for someone else. This program will assist C-suite health care leaders to better understand these dynamics and how their organizations can best respond.
