The Future of Accountable Care
Thursday, September 12, 2019
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
51 Blossom Street
Accountable care organizations cover over 10% of the US population and span across all payer sources: commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid. As the population ages and lives longer, it’s more important now than ever to effectively manage and coordinate care across the continuum. Medicaid beneficiaries with a behavioral health diagnosis account for almost half of Medicaid spending, yet traditional fee-for-service programs boast little to no incentive to coordinate care for this population. The launch of the ACO Certification program in 2017 made Massachusetts the first state to have statewide, all-payer standards for care delivery. The programs continue to grow as payer reform continues and primary care providers become the quarterbacks of their patients’ care delivery, yet significant challenges still exist as patients transition across multiple providers, organizations and care settings.
Join ACHE of Massachusetts for a live panel series discussion designed to spark intriguing discussion around the future of accountable care in Massachusetts, what health care leaders in the state are doing to manage their ACO population, and how they establish a standard of brand equity and care across providers and settings. How will traditionally disparate organizations re-engineer communication? What types of careers will be created as a result of this paradigm shift? How do we truly integrate acute to post-acute, and where do we go from here?
