St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center is the tertiary care referral center for Steward Health Care in Massachusetts along with being a health care destination for the local community. The hospitals long-term growth includes balancing the conflicting needs of limited physical space with expanding clinical service needs and technology. A comprehensive IMP, along with a clear strategic roadmap continues to maintain St. Elizabeth’s status of providing world-class services in a competitive health care market. Craig Williams is an experienced health care leader with an impressive record of success over his 25-year career at hospitals and health systems. He comes to St. Elizabeth’s from Partners HealthCare International, where he served as Executive Director for Global Programs and developed operational improvement strategies for hospitals around the world. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for Elliot Health System in southern New Hampshire and spent six years as the Chief Operating Officer for both Tufts Medical Center and the Tufts Medical Center Physicians Organization, where he helped dramatically improve the system’s finances.
