The Acute Hospital Care at Home (AHCaH) program, introduced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) during the COVID-19 pandemic, allows hospitals to deliver inpatient-level care in patients’ homes. This initiative has proven effective in alleviating hospital capacity pressures while providing patients with care in the comfort of their own homes.
The waiver supporting this program has been extended twice—first in 2022 and again in December 2024. However, it is set to expire on March 31, and stakeholders are advocating for another extension, proposed as part of an upcoming government spending package. This extension would serve as “a bridge to a more permanent model,” offering the regulatory clarity hospitals need as they navigate the future of the program.
Join our dynamic panelists just weeks after the decision on whether to extend the Hospital-at-Home waiver for expert insights on the future of this initiative and its impact on improving accessible, patient-centered care.
The event will be conducted via ACHE’s Learning Management System (LMS), where you can access panel discussion materials and participate in live interactive sessions on Zoom.
To receive 1.5 Virtual Interactive credits, all participants—including panelists, moderators, event coordinators, and board/committee members—must be registered and attend the full 90-minute session.
